The Porter

Full Name
This Agreement is entered into between CABZI LOGISTICS (trading as VanMovePro) ("The Business") and the registered Porter ("The Porter").
The Business engages the Porter on a non-exclusive, self-employed basis to provide removals, loading, unloading, packing, unpacking, furniture handling and related services.
The Porter is under no obligation to accept work and the Business is under no obligation to provide work.
The Porter acknowledges and agrees that:
The Porter may be required to:
Services must be carried out with reasonable care, skill and professionalism.
The Porter shall provide: safety footwear, suitable work clothing, work gloves and a mobile telephone.
The Business may provide additional equipment where necessary.
The Porter shall maintain Public Liability Insurance with minimum cover of £1,000,000.
Evidence of insurance must be provided upon request.
The Porter may provide a substitute subject to Business approval. The substitute must be legally entitled to work in the UK, physically capable of carrying out removals work, and comply with Business health and safety requirements. The Porter remains responsible for the substitute's actions.
Payments as agreed for individual assignments. Invoices shall be submitted weekly. Approved invoices shall be paid within the agreed timeframe.
The Porter shall take reasonable care when handling customer property. Any damage, loss or incident must be reported immediately.
The Porter shall follow safe lifting practices, use lifting equipment where available, wear appropriate PPE, report hazards immediately, and follow all health and safety requirements. The Porter confirms they are physically fit to undertake removals work.
The Porter shall behave professionally and respectfully, be courteous to customers, respect customer privacy, and keep customer information confidential.
The Porter shall NOT:
The Porter shall arrive punctually at agreed locations, notify the Business immediately if delayed, and give reasonable notice if unable to attend an assignment. Repeated lateness or non-attendance may result in termination.
The Porter shall wear clean and presentable clothing, safety footwear at all times, Business-branded clothing where provided, and maintain a professional appearance.
Where Business communication systems are used, including WhatsApp groups, the Porter shall maintain professional communications, respond to work-related messages promptly, not post offensive or inappropriate content, and not share confidential customer information.
The Porter shall keep confidential: customer information, pricing structures, business information, supplier details and internal procedures. This obligation continues after termination.
The Porter shall comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Customer information shall only be used for completing assignments.
During the Agreement and for 12 months after termination, the Porter shall not contact Business customers directly for work, accept private work from Business customers without written permission, or attempt to divert customers away from the Business.
The Porter shall not publish negative comments about the Business, share customer information online, upload photographs of customer property without permission, or represent themselves as speaking on behalf of the Business unless authorised.
The Porter must immediately report: damage to customer property or premises, injuries, missing items, customer complaints, and accidents and near misses. Where damage occurs, the Porter shall take clear photographs and send them to management immediately. The Porter shall not admit liability, offer compensation, negotiate settlements, or sign claim forms — only authorised Business representatives may deal with claims.
The Porter shall not consume alcohol during working hours, attend assignments under the influence of alcohol, or possess, use or supply illegal drugs during assignments. Any breach may result in immediate termination.
Where loss or damage results from negligence, recklessness or misconduct, the Porter may be liable for reasonable losses suffered by the Business to the extent permitted by law.
Either party may terminate this Agreement by providing 7 days' written notice. The Business may terminate immediately for: gross misconduct, theft, violence or threatening behaviour, serious health and safety breaches, drug or alcohol violations, breach of confidentiality, or material breach of this Agreement.
Upon termination, the Porter shall return: uniforms, identification cards, equipment, customer paperwork, and business property.
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
